For high school seniors, now is the time to begin college applications for Fall 2025. Tacoma Public Schools partners with eight schools across Washington to guarantee admission for qualifying students.

Letters of guaranteed admission:

In October, students and families may receive email communication from the Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program and Pacific Lutheran University. The email will share the name of one or more colleges to which they have met admission requirements. Even though admission is guaranteed, students must complete an application if they want to attend that college; the email includes the application link.

If students do not receive guaranteed admission to a college they are interested in, they may still apply to that college. 

Students who have questions or want more information about the guaranteed admissions program or college applications are encouraged to meet with their schools' counseling team. 

Early application deadlines:

Many schools have early decision deadlines, beginning as early as October 15. There is a common application that is used by hundreds of colleges in the U.S., this application is convenient because you can send it to multiple eligible schools. There is also a shared application for many community and technical colleges in Washington,

• Central Washington University 
  • Application deadline for Fall 2025 is March 15
  • CWU accepts the common application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and on track to complete CADRs graduation requirements

• Eastern Washington University
  • Priority application deadline for Fall 2025 is Feb. 1.
  • EWU accepts the common application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and on track to complete CADRs graduation requirements.

• Evergreen State College 
  • Application deadline for Fall 2025 is Sept. 1, 2025.
  • Evergreen accepts the common application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and on track to complete CADRs graduation requirements.

• Pacific Lutheran University
  • Four decision deadlines for Fall 2025, Oct. 15, Nov. 15, Dec. 15 and Jan. 15.
  • PLU accepts the common application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3, and on track to meet PLU math requirement and graduation requirements.

• Tacoma Community College
  • Accepts applications for each quarter. Priority enrollment for the Summer 2025 quarter opens May 12, 2025.
  • TCC accepts the shared application.
  • All TPS graduating seniors who apply to TCC are guaranteed admission.

• University of Washington Tacoma
  • Early action application deadline for Fall 2025 is Nov. 15.
  • UWT accepts the common application.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 and on track to complete CADRs graduation requirements.

• Washington State University
  • FAFSA priority application deadline for Fall 2025 is Jan. 31.
  • WSU accepts the common application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and on track to complete CADRs graduation requirements.

• Western Washington University
  • Early action application deadline for Fall 2025 is Nov. 1.
  • WWU accepts the common application.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 and on track to complete CADRs graduation requirements.
